The narrow Muonionalusta band — 8 mm wide, carved by hand from natural iron meteorite. Roughly half the width of our widest profile, which puts it in everyday territory: it sits under a shirt cuff, it does not catch, and it reads as a ring first and a specimen second.

The structure inside the metal
Meteorites sort into three families — iron, stony, and stony-iron. This is the first: essentially elemental iron-nickel, identified almost entirely by one internal feature, a criss-crossing arrangement of iron and nickel crystals that forms only under extraordinarily slow cooling in space. Acid etching brings it to the surface; nothing else reveals it.
Why narrow works
At 8 mm the pattern crosses the band in fewer, longer strokes — less field, more line. It gives a tighter, more graphic read than a wide profile, and it survives daily wear better simply because there is less exposed surface to knock.
